There is a story in scripture about a boy named Samuel who was falling asleep at home by his father Eli. As Samuel drifted to sleep he heard the Lord call... Samuel answered, “Here I am.” And he ran to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.”But Eli said, “I did not call; go back and lie down.” So he went and lay down. Again the Lord called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.” “My son,” Eli said, “I did not call; go back and lie down.” A third time the Lord called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.” Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. 9So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place. The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!”Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.” There is more to the story, but the message is two fold. Are you open to hearing the Lord and if so, are you ready and willing to follow. The hard part in life is sometimes we need to go against the grain and do what is unpopular or not fully supported. It can be hard when we're called to swim upstream or do what we're called to do in spite of some opposition around us, but the beautiful thing is how God uses these harder moments to reveal his bigger plan, glory, and gifts. Some of God's most miraculous and amazing blessings came through people doing the hard things in which often seemed impossible. Today I encourage you to follow your heart and the voice within you to do what you believe is right, good, and just. To move forward with faith. Then pray and work your prayers to trust in time the wonders of God's glory will be revealed in the people and life around us. Amen. Hope this song "Here I Am Lord" blesses you. Enjoy! Love Keith
